Michael Curran is an honours graduate from the BSc (Hons) Podiatry offered at National University of Ireland, Galway. He is currently undertaking the MSc in Theory of Podiatric Surgery in Glasgow Caledonian University and is a member of the Society of Podiatrists and Chiropodists, Ireland. He has been working with Mr Kearns since January 2015 and is a guest lecturer for the undergraduate Podiatry programme in NUI Galway.
He continues to work closely with Mr Kearns and has been involved in setting up the Rapid Access Foot & Ankle Clinic in the Bon Secours Hospital, Galway. The clinic caters for patients who do not need an immediate surgical intervention and provides conservative treatment strategies to all it’s patients. The clinic accepts referrals from GPs, consultants, physiotherapists and other allied health professionals.
Michael also assists Mr Kearns in theatre and he has been involved in over 1000 foot and ankle surgeries to date. This has provided him with a unique insight into orthopaedic interventions of the foot and ankle which he has taken into every day practice.
